Arbor Bear Tree Specialists is a family-run arboricultural business based in Lymington, providing professional tree care, forestry and woodland management throughout the New Forest and surrounding areas of Hampshire and Dorset.
Founded by experienced arborist Luke Keavy, Arbor Bear has been built around a straightforward principle: provide knowledgeable, honest tree care, carry out the work to an exceptional standard and treat every property with the same level of care as the trees themselves.
From Dorset to London, Australia & Back to the New Forest
Luke began his career in arboriculture at Kingston Maurward College in Dorchester, graduating in 2006 before going on to work with established arboricultural teams across Dorset, Hampshire, London and Australia.
Over the last two decades, he developed extensive hands-on experience across almost every aspect of professional tree care, from technical pruning and tree management to complex dismantles, large-scale felling, forestry and woodland work.
Luke later established his Arbor Bear Business, building a strong reputation working with estate and homeowners across Central London before taking his arboricultural experience back overseas to Western Australia to further develop his knowledge.
Working in Australia added another dimension to his experience, particularly in the management of trees and vegetation in very different landscapes and climatic conditions, including woodland firebreak creation and wildfire fuel management.
Now based back in Hampshire with his family, Luke has brought Arbor Bear home to the New Forest, combining his local roots with two decades of experience gained across the UK and Australia.

Luke is City & Guilds NPTC qualified and fully insured, with extensive practical experience across all aspects of arboriculture, including aerial tree work, technical climbing and dismantling, tree pruning and felling, tree planting, inspections, protected tree work, and forestry and woodland management.
Having worked extensively across Dorset, Hampshire, London, Melbourne, Sydney and most recently Perth, Western Australia, Luke has developed broad practical knowledge of a diverse range of tree species, their individual characteristics, growth habits and management requirements. Experience working with trees across very different climates and environments has further shaped his approach to species-specific tree care, from establishing and managing young trees through to the retention and management of mature and veteran specimens.
All tree work is undertaken by Arbor Bear’s experienced, qualified arborists to recognised industry standards and in accordance with BS3998 recommendations for tree work. Each project is considered individually, taking into account the tree’s species, age, condition, structure, location and long-term management requirements rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
As an independent, family-run business, Arbor Bear offers a genuinely hands-on service. Clients deal directly with experienced arborists who can assess the tree, explain the available options and recommend an appropriate arboricultural solution, with Luke remaining closely involved from initial assessment through to completion.
